I created an image from a black and white pencil sketch I drew 2 months ago, but I'm battling with skin texture (image seems a bit plastic).
Any Ideas?

The general colour and tone seems good, I am no artist but I can give you my tuppence worth.

Perhaps using the heal tool to soften some of the delineation between light and dark shadows, a little more subtle shading. Also adding a slight imperceptible (almost) noise to the image would help with realism.

It's a good image so far though.

thanks hermit, I did try using the heal tool but I seemed to get a sort of burnt effect between the different hues, but I like the idea of the noise effect, you will see around the cheek area I've got a sort of pourus effect which is what I'm realy looking for, but it's quite difficult to do and takes a long time, thanks for the comments though

Have to say you really have nailed the shadows around the nose and the general skin texture is great also. I would be tempted to put a few specular highlights on the lips. Only other thing I can see that needs some attention (imo) is the eyes. They are a little glassy and fake at the moment, it may also be a little too strong a green.

Really good improvements since the last incarnation though gj
