Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm new to PS. But I put an image from my pictures folder as my background and I added some effects to it, but now I want to put another image on top of my background from my pictures folder and every time I try, it opens into a new document. Can someone help me out please?  |

Open both your old picture and your new picture.
On the NEW PICTURE ... CTRL+A to select all, then CTRL+C to copy the NEW PICTURE.
Then go to the OLD PICTURE ... CTRL+A to highlight the entire area then CTRL+SHFT+V to paste your NEW PICTURE within the confines of the old picture
Then CTRL+T and resize to fit and then flatten CTRL+E then save as original picture and you should be good to go
