Hi, i want to purchase the photoshop software, to do a certain task but im not sure if the "elements" software does what i need.
My photos are of products taken mainly on a white background but then i need to make the background whiter. I saw a tutorial of a 10 second photoshop task that done this as follows - image/adjustment/curves & then they adj a histogram. But they dont say which photoshop they are using?
Hopefully it will be one of the photo elements so the software works out a bit cheaper.
If anyone has any ideas that would be great.
Thanks

hi,
I am no expert but I have both pscs 1 and elements 5 not comfortable with element 5 and hence don't use it that much... so there things i am probably overlooking......
...
note: the turoial example yoreferred to appers to be for the regular photoshop vers 7 and above series not for elements!!
note: you might want to look up specifically photoshop elements tutorials!! there out there.....

1. the photoshop cs1 works faster on my system than than elements 5 does
2. in elements 5 the menu items have been re arranged or split among other menu items... than compared to pscs1 .. s it going to be alittle confusing to follow a photoshop cs tutorial with elements 5...
3. the curves.... in element5 you use sliders!! there is a histogram but you can't use the mouse to click on points in this histogram to adjust, your restricted to just the sliders! and there no white point or black point or grey point you can click in elements 5 like yo can in cs1 ..

well those are my thoughts and expereiences.... some one who is maybe more familiar or who has elements 6 can give you more relevent/accurate info...

Yeah I'll agree with Jerry, Photoshop Elements does have a curves command but it's different to curves in the full version of Photoshop...nowhere near as powerful and as Jerry said, you can't directly amend the curve by clicking on it.
Hope that helps
