Photoshop 9.0.2
Very new at PS so here's what I've done and what I want to do.
I took a Word 2003 graphical single-color (black) letterhead and copy/pasted into PS. I can see the grid lines in PS so that's cool. Now, what I want to do is to highlight (via MagicWand, I think) the outer perimeter of the logo and enhance its pixelation (is that a word?) so I can use it in an email (HTML type) as well as change its size (+/-) without altering its resolution. There are alot of lines, circles, curves etc. that appear to be (are?) connected and interconnected - except for about 6 stars and planets. [Logo is based on stars, planets, earth, moon, sun etc. - like an astronomy or solar system approach to make it pretty simple.]
So, when I've selected the MagicWand icon on the Toolbox and then select the black outer border of the logo, it appears that PS enables all of the logo - at least the connected parts - the others I'm not too sure as I can't see them 'vibrate' as I currently look at the MagicWand enabled logo. There's also some text involved - slanting up to the right and down to the right. All text is English.
So, in summary, how do I increase the pixel resolution of the ENTIRE logo (all stars, planets etc. even those not interconnected) and make sure that I can use the *.psd file to change the logo size but not the resolution? Or do I need to change the file to *.???. _________________ TIA!!!

Hi,
see you you posted this a couple of days ago.. not sure how much help i can be , I am a novice myself... but a couple of things first.
1. it would help to know what the present pixal deminsions of the image
2. if you can if you can put it on some file sharing site such as flickr and provide link to the image so we can look at it. it would be a lot easier to understand what is happening and some of us can experiment with to see what the best to achieve the results ..
a note: many times when i am working on a small image i will "upsample" the image ( resize it larger) so that i have more pixals to work with.
to do this go to image menu>image size
then put the new pixal deminstions
the either pic bicubic smooth or bicubic sharp may want to experiemtn to see which is better for you..
then click ok ..... it a lot easier working on a image that has a lot pixals..
if you don't like the grid, go to view menu>show and there yo can toggle off.
