So, I'm new to Phoshop CS3 extended, and have only been using it for about three day's. Now I have learned some thing's, but something does not make any sense to me at all! Why is it that when I use the Polygonal Lasso Tool to cut out an image's background, it leave traces of the background color in the image?? Like so--

See the white around it after I color the background green? Does anyone know what is causing this? I saved the image as a PNG file so this should not be happening...

This is a common problem when trying to do this. First thing I go back and check when I do this is did I have the ANTI-ALIAS checked. This gets a bit tighter around.

Sometimes though that is not enough and you need to go in close with an eraser and clean it up. Or once you have your area selected before you delete you can try SELECT/MODIFY/EXPAND and expand 1 or 2 pixels and it should look better.
