Ugh, so in between working on the image for Lumpus (it's a bit tedious), I'm working on some sort of effect on the logo for a game I play for a contest. Thus, I don't want anything made, I simply want to be pointed in the right direction on how to do it. If you want to show me for tutorial purposes, you can select or make another images :).

Anyways, what I want is to create the sort of sheen effect that slides across the image, making it look like a piece of metal with a bit of life and movement to it. It'll end up in animated GIF form. It's being called a logo, when in reality it's more like a mini banner of the logo/banner. *shrugs*

No sure I understand the question, but if you duplicate layer and then do a motion blur then change the transparency to almost clear then combine layers will that create the effect your looking for?
