In photoshop I made a 400 by 400 area and made a small button.
Now that I have the button I am stuck!
1. What is the best way/ways to crop just a bit around this button to save it as an image file?
2. if I need to make more buttons with different text, do I need new files or can I use one file and change text and save-as each time?
3. how can I crop exactly the same area around the button to make sure when I use these images on a html page, they align exactly in the same spot?
Thanks! |

Hi markcars,
Just for future reference when I create my buttons I make sure of the dimensions for the button first and make sure that my image size does not exceed that size. I also color the background exactly the same color of the background that the button will sit in. That way the button looks just right.
To answer your questions.
1. If you are saying that the entire image is already flattened, then the best way will most likely be to use the magic wand with anti-alias check and click on the area that is NOT the button. Then go to SELECT/INVERSE then CTRL+C to copy the button and then you'll need to CTRL+N for new image and CTRL+V to paste the button to the new size image.
2. If you do not already have the image flattened, then yes, you can do exactly as you say.
3. Use the first button you do this to as your template/guide
