Hello, I'm new to this forum (and Photoshop) and hope that I can get a quick and easy response for my problems.
I am tasked with converting 25k PDFs to JPG files and saving them in two different resolutions as well. I have Photoshop CS2 (Windows) and that is all of my available resources.
I've created an action against one image that will open the PDF, perform all cropping, resizing, and save the file (2x, once to the full-size jpg folder, once to lower res jpg folder). The important thing to remember is that the numeric file names to the PDFs have significance and must match the desgination. I cannot rename the files any other way.
I went to test this action set in Batch and received an error "Not enough parameters supplied" and learned that I had to manually record myself opening a PDF document and then check "Override Action 'Open' Commands" in the Batch Window. This apparently uses the same settings of my Open command in my action set and allows it to work against my source directory. The problem arises when it goes to actually perform the open command in the batch. It uses the document name of the recorded open command, thus every source file that is opened has the same recorded document name. This becomes a problem when I go to save the files to their seperate folders because they all use the same file name and overwrite one another.
What I need to do is find a way to use this Open Action command but set the default file name to that of the file being opened, and not of the file in the recorded action. This will ensure that as each PDF is converted and saved as a JPG, that the file name remains identical to the source, and not the template.
Are there any ideas as to how this can be done? I'm so close to finishing the process off, but I'm so tired of looking at it for the day. I really need to kick off this process since it will probably take 2 or 3 days to complete, so help ASAP is appreciated.
