I have a logo that was designed with a white background. I want to put it on something with a dark background but the color scheme won't show well on the dark background. So, I want to surround the logo with a narrow white border, preferably with one that fades into the background. The purpose isn't really to create a design element. It is just to make the logo better readable against the dark background. Thanks for any help.

I'd find out what font that is and just re-do the logo. Maybe add an outer glow to the text, or stroke the inside (with the effects palette.)
