I'm trying to make an avatar for the forums here, but I can't seem to make it small enough (file size) for it to be usable.

Here it is:

Is there some way I can compress this down to 8kb without losing quality?

Hi kreativ,

Try saving the image in .PNG format. That should be considerably smaller if you were using JPEG. When saving, select the option of interlaced, as that usually suppresses the file size by minimal amounts. Interlacing provides for faster load speeds on the web. But honestly, a 8kb .PNG isn't going to hurt anyone. Big Grin

Hey, Thanks! Your suggestion worked...but I still can't seem to trim it down to the size I need. Thanks anyways.

The elements that determine file size is the different tones of color in an image. What you can do is perhaps resizing the text elements to a smaller size while keeping the dimensions at 100x100, or reduce that glow.

I've redesigned my avatar and it's working now. Saving as a PNG did the trick.

Thanks for your help!
