2 x 3.5" 300 dpi. If your design runs off the card, add .125" for bleed.

I usually work a background image in Photoshop and type in InDesign. But you can do it all in Photoshop if you want.

Convert to CMYK right at the beginning to avoid surprises later. (PS layers set to multiply, soft light, etc. sometimes do weird things when you convert from RGB.)

The more colors in your card, the more it will cost to print.

A lot of card printers have online templates you can download.

Spell everything correctly. Can't think of anything else. Good luck.

Yeah, I took my design to the printer and she looked them over and asked me "everything look right to you?" and I said "yup!"

She printed 300 of them for me. I went back 3 hours later and picked them up and got in the vehicle with the wife ... so proud to finally have my own business cards finally and handed one of them to the wife and said "what do you think?"

She looked it over and said "Wow honey, really nice .... can I ask you something?" "Sure" I said. "If I were a prospective customer and wanted to call you" she said "what phone number would I dial?"

I looked at the card for 2 or 3 minutes and thumped myself in the head ............ aaaaaaaargh!

She just laughed and laughed
