I have two pictures that i want to merge into one (to make them look like the same picture). Does anyone know how to do this using photoshop? They both have different backgrounds, so will i need to cut around them both??

For a proper answer you might want to post both pictures so we can get a good look at them to find out the best way to help you.

h,
Like moondog mentioned, who better than i, it best to post the images, because there a lot of different ways to extract a object, and and which meathod is best many times depends on the image and the object! .
to give you an idea of different methodes
1. using the magnetic lasso or the lasso to select a object
2. using the pen tool to select a object
3. channel masking .. to select a object
4. extraction feature

those are the basic meathod ..... your last question.. unless you don't want either background in the two images you only need to copy and paste just the primary object of interst into the other image... but again weather this is done depends on the images...
