Im looking to paste an image onto another image, you chaps have shown me how to do that, what im trying to do is remove the white backgorund from a pic similar to this, so that i can paste it into another pic. IS THERE an easy way to do this, without going round the whole shape with the lassoo tool. Ie turn the background into a "see thorugh layer" if that makes sense ? Sorry for the lamens terms Confused

Use the magic wand to select all the white. Set the tolerance to zero and slowly increment while clicking on white until all the white is selected then you can delete for a transparent background.

Go to the Filters menu

Click on Extract
The picture will reopen in another window

Click on a size for the highlighter -- it is fine to make it a bit wide on your picture like maybe brush size 10 or so

Go to smooth and give it a value of oh say 50

Click on the highlighter at the upper left. Trace around your image.

Click on the fill can and dump on your image. Hit preview to see if it is what you want. This technique works great if there is a lot of fine detail like hair blowing around. You can readjust the values while you are in that pane and just hit preview again.

It seemed to work fine with your image -- if I can figure out how to post pictures to this forum, I'll show you the quick and dirty fiw I ran at it.

Blessings

Okay -- I was using the quick reply at the bottom. This should work. It is a quick/sloppy job, but at least you can get the idea. I do like extracting and transporting better this way because it seems to avoid the stray pixel look Crazy
