Hi guys,
I'm looking to put together a magazine in Photoshop CS2. The plan is to save single pages as PDF's, and combine them in Acrobat.
However I'm told I need to ensure I have bleed and trim marks - and I have no idea how to do these.
Any help would be much appreciated! |

You can add trim and bleed marks in PS or Acrobat. PS marks are under "output" and Acrobat marks are under "Advanced" in the print settings.
Trim is the size of the magazine. Bleed is usually .125" more.

Thanks for the reply.
Forgive the ignorance, but what do you mean it's the size of the magazine? The size of the pages?
Thanks,
U. |

No worries.
If your magazine is 8.5 x 11", that's where your trim marks fall. That's where the printer will cut (trim) the paper.
Bleed is an extra 1/8" (.125") that will be cut off to ensure that images and colors are not short of the blade.
I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure your PS page/image size should be 8.75 x 11.25" The live area will be .125 inside that on all 4 sides. (8.5 x 11")
I don't compose pages in PS, so I don't know for sure. |
