Im trying to cut out the background in a image, im actually trying to cut out the green screen background but when I do with the magic tool it either cuts out some of the person arm or something, or it would still be some green in the the image.
Can someone help with extracting background, maybe theres an advance way to do this? |

how about posting the image you want to use so people can try to emulate your problem to come up with a solution?

hi,
it would be helpful to include the image.. there many ways to select an object, and many times it depends on the image which is best.. and if we have the image we can see and experiment on which would be the best for that image..
now with the magic wand important to pay attention to the tolerance setting. and you have to experiment with this setting to find what works best....
now another meathod is the magnetic lasso .... generally you like to have a nice contrast .. on the edges but it can be effective..... related tools is the lasso, trapazoid, etc...
in certain cases you can use the either the magic eraser or the background eraser.. but again make note of the tolerance settings..
another meathod... is channel masking..!! there variations of this.. but basically that involves making a duplicate channel of the channel that has the best contrast, and you make a mask from this which allows you then to do other things... russel brown has fine tutorial on this at this webpage at the bttom looks for advance masking....

now another meathod.. smiling (many ways to do things) you have the extracting tool in your filter menu ... depending if you have nice sharp contrast edges you may need to do a little cleaning up afterwards...
there another meathod to select and it using the pen tool but i was never any good at using it... to select objects...
well those are some of the more common meathod to select an area... which one is best.. depends onthe image.... the guru's here can probably tell you more or there preferred meathod.. but sure would help if you include the image..
