I have been using Photoshop for ages, and have never had a problem before.

But now every new doc is locked and won't let me do anything, such as add layers (so I can't edit my website images - or anything!)

Have I clicked something I shouldn't have?

I've been working with white padlocked docs all day and they have been ok. Now when I reopen them they are locked (black padlocks) and are unlockable (the icons are greyed out).

Please help - I've searched the Help files, but no joy.

Thanks

UPDATE:
I just deleted the Preferences file after reading this page:

http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.ef4a07f

I had to search for the file on my hard drive as no other way worked. I also had to reboot and although all images appeared to not have changed (still a black padlock) I was now able to add a new layer from the menu and the padlock changed to white.

This might help others with the same problem.
