Problem with Photoshop CS4, all pictures open solid black

Hi, I just installed CS4 and every picture I try to open in photoshop (jpg, jpeg, bmp, etc..) all open as a solid black picture.

but on the right side of the page under layers I can see the little pic preview clearly as the background, but on the screen it's just solid black.

Any ideas?!?!

I would suggest resetting your preferences (Hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt while starting CS4. Click OK when prompted). If that doesn't do it, maybe contact Adobe or re-install the program. Someone else may know of a different fix.
