Hi twitchey, if you want to add a texture to an image, open up the image. then open up the texture you want to use. Make sure both are on screen at once. Select the move tool by pressing the "v" key. Hold down shift and click on the texture image, then drag it into the other image. Try experimenting with the blend modes and opacity to get the effect you want. Also you could try creating a layer mask and painting into it to get various effects, as in "grunge" art. If you only want the texture in one part of the image, you may need to select it and make a layer mask to isolate the bit you want. If you have no textures try googling "free textures" and you will find lots of free ones on the net.
