If i understand you correctly, you want to adjust the tranparency of the style alone and not effect the transparency of the layer itself. Correct?

Easiest way I can think to do this would be to use two layers. Duplicate the layer you want to apply the styles to. Leave the lower level alone.

Set the style of the upper layer and then adjust it's fill (not opacity) to 0. Now you can adjust the opacity of the upper layer to, in effect, reduce the transparency of the style.

Otherwise, you could go in to the style of the layer and adjust each of the added style's opacity levels manually.

Maybe someone else knows of a better/easier way?

Regards,
Dave
