hi all,

I have various pictures that I edit and post on the internet. However I put text signatures on my pics.

I have a text signature that i have done a lot of blending options.

My question is this

how can i keep all the blending options on the text so that I can put the same text signature with a transparent background with all the blending option on various pictures?

many thanks to all teachers out there.

It's hard to know what your saying, but from what I understand, this would be my solution. Select the text, then right click on it in the layers panel, go to the bottom of the listed options and choose copy layer style. Then do the same thing for what ever you would like that style to be put on, but this time click paste layer style.

ok sorry let me explain again.

I create a text signature in CS4 say the name "Nigel Photography"
Then I apply a lot of changes to that text under the Blending Options menu
So i have the final signature with all the modifications

Now how can i save this signature with all these modifications so that next time i can simply put this on another picture WITHOUT doing all the changes again in Blending options..

is this a bit clear or still muddy?

thanks friend.

That's more clear, thank you. All you have to do is make sure the text is on a transparent background, then save it as a PNG file. When ever you want to add it to a picture, just open the picture and the text at the same time and drag the text to the picture. Let me know if this helps!

By blending options I assume you mean styles, drop shadow, etc. You can save as a brush and use it anytime you wish. Make your text, add the styles. Select the text then click edit, Define Brush Preset.

Then just select this brush for your signature for each picture you do. It allows you to change colors when necessary too.

Just a side note: You also gave the impression that you might want to save the 'layer styles' for use on another signature (not JUST Nigel Photography).

If I design a something with a layer style that I like and might use on other items of the same type, I make sure to save the finished file in layers and then give it a name that I will know has that specific layer style.

JSnell and hawkeye did great also!
