Hello,

Thank you for visiting PhotoshopForums.com.

In order to make our Cash and Barter Market Place more accessible, we have decided to change the guidelines for the forum as they pertain to the disclosure of compensation.

Previously, we had required that, except for very specific circumstances, any thread starters describe the exact compensation that was being offered in the very first post. This has been changed to be more open ended and to allow thread starters to be more flexible in their compensation and to even request offers from people within the forums.

This change requires a deeper level of responsibility by all members of our community as now it will be possible for people to barter through the forums and to successfully barter, both parties must be respectful at all times, even when they feel a low offer has been made.

Here are the relevant portions of the Cash and Barter Market Place Guidelines - first, for thread starters:

Quote:
In the initial post, you must include details about the compensation that is being offered. This can be as open ended as you'd like and you are welcome to request offers. Similarly, if you are selling something, please include either the sale price or a minimum bid, if you have one in mind. If you don't, you are welcome to say best offer. You should not be offended by low offers. Please politely decline any offer that you do not wish to accept.

Examples of non cash compensation include: gift certificates, advertising, a link on your site, web hosting, a domain name, a product that you offer, etc. What you offer can affect the quality of the entries and the amount of attention that your listing receives.

And now, for designers and interested parties:

Quote:
Please do not make uninvited remarks about the compensation or sale price that has been offered, if any. If you are not comfortable with the terms set forth, please do not contact them or participate in their thread. Do not harass anyone in regards to this. If the thread starter requests price suggestions or offers, you are welcome to make them, but you should not be offended by a price that you feel is too low. Please politely decline any offer that you do not wish to accept and do not get involved in bartering discussions between other members.

We hope that this adjustment encourages greater participation in the Cash and Barter Market Place.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for reading.

Sincerely,

Patrick
