can you create separate layers for multiple selected items?

Is this possible? One layer contains many tiny separate images surrounded by transparency... if I control click on the layer so that all the images are outlined, can I then quickly create separate layers for all of them?

Select each item, one at a time. Then cut/copy and paste to a new layer.

Yeah I knew that one....I was hoping there was a faster way. There are literally 1000 or more tiny little spots.
