|
|
Hi, I have to admit, I am a newbee. I used the magic wand to select everything on the image. Then I selected "select reverse". I was able to delete the white background. I saved the file under a different name but when I insert it like on a web page, I still have the white square background. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you. Andre |

Hi there, there's two potential issues that could be to blame so I'll highlight them both here:
1. - A transparent background. When you deleted the white background from your image were you left with a sort of grey and white checked pattern behind it? If so that's right as it is a transparent background. If not it might be that you've deleted the white background from the original image, only to replace it with more white if that makes any sense. When you create a new document you have the option to specify whether the background is white, transparent or another colour; you want it to be transparent.
2. - If your background, once deleted, was transparent then it's possible that you're saving the image in the wrong format. What did you save it as? A jpeg image, for example, can't deal with transparency. Try re-saving the image as a .png or .gif file and see if this solves the problem.
Hopefully the problem will be one of those issues. If not do post again and I'm sure the collective brains here can solve it. :-) _________________ Looking for high-quality stock photos?

Thank you for your help. Reading your reply, my problem is most likely #2. I'll try that and post reply. |

I was doing it the correct way but saving it as a png did the trick.
Thanks a lot for your help. |
