Hello,
How can i acheive this effect? The white box has a black shadow (somewhat rounded) that makes the box pop up.

Ok, drop shadow under layer effects would be easiest, however you won't have it thinning at the edges, therefore:
You need to do it manually. Make a new layer under the white box and get a soft round black brush.
