I've been trying a PS tutorial for making a reflection look like water ripples.

I keep getting stuck on Page 4 - Step 14 - Hide The Ripples On Top With A Layer Mask.

I tried mailing Steve Patterson but couldn't get a reply. Any help or advice please?

hmm, seems clear but try this:

Add a layer mask as suggested and then draw with a rectangular marquee in black over 1/2 the image (obvioulsy the top 1/2).

To be clear, as far as I can see, you need to create a layer mask and fill 1/2 the image with black.

Welcome to the forum, hope that helps, if not, feel free to query some more.

I do apologise, but in retrospect I seem to be as clear as mud, if you do get it from my description, more power to your elbow. It seem though as if you need a hawkeye infront of his computer walkthrough (no pressure hawk;))

Hi Hermit,

I found a way to do it which is much the same as you described.

After many goes at the tutorial, I still get stuck at the same step.

Thanks for the help.
