Hello there :)

This is my first post here, and to be true, the first time i've had a problem like this.

I'm making a poster for a rock concert and all bands have sent me theyr logos in .eps, .ai and other vector formats, which is not my actual problem, except one.

These guys sent me a logo in .gif format and the logo is nasty as hell. Dirty, unsharp and even hard to understand.

So, I wanted to ask for your help.
Can you, guys advice me how to clean it up to get the best out of it? Tried to Trace it in illustrator, Smart Sharpen in photoshop and all kinds of other tricks, but seems it still woudn't look as good as needed.

The image is uploaded at imageshack.

Hoping for a helping hand,
Matiss.

cant help you as such, but once you get a GIF file I find it hard to enlarge, or really do to anything with, unless its in a high res format.

Maybe go back to the band and ask for another format logo, or search for it online.. Won't mind taking a look at the poster once you've completed it.

heh - that's where the problem starts.

This is the only logo the band has Big Grin

They have recently formed and someone draw this for them by hand, then they scanned it and "upgraded" it in photoshop. Big Grin

Hmm, i'll look what i can do, but if anyone gets any ideas about cleaning it up atleast a little, i'm open for em :)

The poster is nothing complicated - just black and white, logos, text. But i'll paste a link anyways, if you're still interested :)

I had a look at your logo, you need to zoom way into it, select a small brush 3 or a 5 size, make sure white is your foreground colour and start painting out all the small black dots and pixels that are floating separately from the rest of the graphic. It's going to take a while to do but I can't think of any other way to get rid of them.
