I am trying to create line art faster from sketches. What I have tried doing so far is selecting all the penciled in areas, then going to the paths tab in the layer channel and selecting "Make Work Path From Selection". Such as the image below.
The Problem:
All the white spaces in between the black lines need to be solid black, no white whats so ever. In other words the character lines need to be solid black, not have white going through them.
thanks for your time, thank you |

You can simply fill the path with black. From the paths palette click the fill path with foreground color icon. (set it to black obviously)
Not sure what you're trying to do as you should have pretty much have the same thing as you started with. |

I am trying to get PS to do a chunk of the line art for me with the pen tool, and stroke it with the brush once it has the proper selection.
Anyways, filling it with black resulted in this

Reverse the selection before creating the path and it will fill the lines. |

Here are the steps I did, it did not achieve the desired effect although I appreciate your help
Here I did cntrl+shift+i to get the inverse selection as you said
Notice how there are still white spaces between the lines. I would like there to be one solid black line.
I would like the end product to look something like this http://kuridoki.deviantart.com/art/Tablet-Lineart-Tutorial-28278420 I am simply trying to save some time when doing lineart. [/img] |

What you need to do here is select the white/black arrow tool in the tools pallet. (Doesn't matter if it's toggled to either white or black, they both still do the same thing here.)
next, hover the pointer above your work path, right click and select "fill path..."
choose black as your color from the drop-down menu and click ok.
this will fill in the paths in black.
I still don't think this is going to do what you want it to though, depending on how precise you're trying to be.
Anchor points and then 'stroke path' is what you really need for an accurate job.
This is why I always say that Photoshop gives you the most professional results when you're willing to not take shortcuts and do the work manually/yourself instead of using filters or automated commands. |
