Hi,

I'm new to Photoshop and so far I love the program. I'm having a problem inserting text on a photo, looks like it should be easy but it does not show up on the layer? What am I not doing?

Thanks,

Peter

You need to describe in detail what you're doing before anyone can say what you're doing wrong.

Thanks Hawkeye...I'm using CS4 and have a photo I'm trying to put text over top of. I clicked on the horizontal type tool, clicked on the photo and when I start typing but nothing appears on the photo. When I look at the layers area on the lower right of the screen I can see a layer was created and I see the text I typed but its not on the photo?

Is the text layer above the image layer?

It appears to be, I arranged it to "bring to front" but no change?

Is the text size large enough to see? Is a color set for the text that will show up against the image? Is the text layer blend mode set to normal?

Text size is 36 point and even tried larger, i'm using a contrasting colour and the blend mode is set to normal. I even copied the image into another layer and tried to insert text there and still nothing. If I open a new project I can type there so its something to do with the images I'm working with I think. I'm pretty sure I have been able to insert text on other projects, its just wierd.
