Hi, photoshop newbie here. Trying to figure out how to get rid of foreground artifact in b&w photo.....so that the change is not a distraction.
Area needs to appear same as background after removal. Possible problem: area I want to remove is somewhat translucent. See attached:
area to be removed is vertical item starting just below girl's pointing forearm, goes to bottom of pic. Thanks much....Pete

Use the clone tool, plus time and patience.

Just like hawkeye said, a little clone stamp and perhaps just paint in the mans suspenders.

Thanks Hawkeye & Htown.....I found a short tutorial on using clone tool online --- very easy.
