				I bought Photoshop cs4 a couple days ago to get into graphic designing as a hobby, now im looking for tutorials to help me out...
 
what methods or techniques is needed to acomplish something like this?

				is the method used to create the picture that i posted is layer masking or photo manipulation?  |

				If it was me doing the image, I would have used 4 different photographs for it.
 
 
1. The background layer would be the sky- just a photo of a sky and clouds
 
 
2. Next, find a photo of buildings and paste it ontop of the sky layer
 
 
3. The next layer would be the car pasted ontop of the buildings
 
 
4. Next, paste the image of the girl ontop of the car layer
 
 
Then it's just a case of adding some highlights/shadows on another layer with the airbrush tool, and moving the 4 layers around so they are well-placed with eachother (composition)
 
 
I guess you could say it's photo manipulation. I've still never used a layer mask, so I don't see where it would be necessary here. It's is actually a very simple procedure to achieve this picture.  |
