How can I increase the "stepbackward" or Ctrl+Z settings.

I have lookd everywhere, It must be there somewhere. I'm new to Photoshop an EX PSP man and one thing I have noticed is they make everything hard to find (Its ok once you know where it is) |

				go to:

Edit/Preferences/Performance...

In the upper-right hand corner you see "History States:" and a number beside it. Change the number to however many undos you want. Hit ok.

It takes effect right away. |

I feel such an idiot I was doing the Ctrl+Z for the backstep/delete whic is a PSP and a typical word and excel function by MS But Photoshop iS

Alt+Ctrl+Z

in preferances/performance/History $ Cache Box there are tw numbers

History States: 20

Cache Levels: 4

Itake it that its the "History States:" 20 (20 backsteps ?) |

That is correct but unless you have lots of memory to spare, 20 should be plenty. _________________ www.splitlightdesigns.com

You want to change the 'history states' number. Not the cache levels.

I use Photoshop mostly for artwork, so I have mine set to 500 'undo' states. It takes a lot of ram, but works. I have 4 gigs of ram right now. It does slow things down though.

You need more than 20 I would say. 100 should be good. Up to you though. |
