Hi people. Here's my question:
Forgive my lack of knowledge, I'm really a beginner.
(Using Photoshop CS3 Extended - Version 10.0.) |

It sounds like you are talking about removing the background, cropping is something else entirely.
Removing the background can be done in many many ways and the best method depends on each image.
As you're a beginner, the easiest way will be to carefully erase the areas you don't want.
Soggestion: If you don't have one and plan to do this kind of work often , look into getting a pen tablet. |

Yes, hawkeye, thanks, that's what I wanted to ask. I will use the eraser. |

i don't have PS in front of me but I would say that the way to 'remove' bear would be through a channel selection and masking. Without looking I would guess the blue channel is the one with most contrast.
Duplicate the blue or most contrasty channel, use the curves or levels to lighten and darken the area, fill in the area with either black or white and make your mask from that.
I am sure there are tutorials out there for channel masking etc.. sorry not on the internet. _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

Use the pen tool, it's one of the best with selections like this.. and it also depends on your image size that's why you might get the messy edges..
Hope this was of help _________________ Add your Business and be part of a new Business Video Directory revolution : )
