I am trying to type text that wraps around the outside edge of a project ie along top edge of page and then along vertical edge of page. I don't want the text on the vertical edge to have a vertical orientation though, I just want the text to run around the edge of the paper in a continuous flow. Am I trying to do the impossible? I am using Photoshop CS4 and am a total newbie.

It sounds like you should use type on a path.
