|
|
Hi everyone,
When I'm using the pen tool I can get as far as surrounding an object and making it a selection, but when I go to move the selected object it only moves the outline of it and not the entire object. I was taught how to do it in a class last night but when I got home it didn't work for me. I'm using CS4 in class and photoshop 7 at home. Could that be it?? What am I doing wrong?? I'm a newbie in every sense of the word.

When you select with the pen tool is it in paths mode? Also do you get the dancing ants?

Yes I get the dancing ants and I've made the object a selection but when I go to move the object it just moves the outline (dancing ants). I have a background layer as well which I forgot to put on my post.

Weird, You should be able to move what you have selected with the move tool, and move the actual selection itself with any 1 of the 3 selection tool buttons. (Marquee, Lasso, Magic wand)

As you make the path, make the selection of the path.. then with the move tool move your object, now you saying that you object doesn't move might be some other layer.... try/....
