i.e. that some script or maybe even another program would automatically identify all areas which are too dark / bright in the image and perform dodge and burn actions on them automatically... However it should be a high quality algorithm so that it wouldn't ruin the image and touch only where it needs to be touched...
What do you think?

Yo mate,
Photoshop can not do that, it can have Actions made where you yourself have brushed near the area you wanted.. but I don't think there can be an Automate script that can understand the image and it's resolution and brush in the those areas..

I was told I can do this through "image > adjustments > curves..." and making an "S" shape or something... I'll give it a shot.
