I'm not sure exactly how to go about creating a text in text mask.

Please see the attached photos. Sample 1 is what I currently have. Sample 2 is a rough idea of the end result.

I tried using a clipping mask but what I want to do is to remove the white background text (DHI) and then have the black text visible but in the shape of the white text.

Hopefully, I've explained this somewhat clearly. Can someone help me please?

Have a Grey background, duplicate it and merge this with the background text text text. Add a layer mask channel, go into channels to make it visible/edit it and paint it black like a red door then write white text over the top of it.

I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing wrong here but when I try to type the DHI text it ends up being almost a selection with no white showing. I made sure to have the channel visible & color black and the DHI text white like you said. Frown

It looks like your mask channel is all white. Red mask looks good. Exactly like mine, just no magic happening. Confused All i can recommend is fill it with the paint bucket all black, and then type white text. Notice how my channel looks. Black and white.

If all else fails, the selection you have in the picture could have been used by going to Select > Inverse, which swaps it around, then delete or cut the unwanted part out.

Good luck. Don't be afraid to post again if this doesn't help. Big Wink
