Hi,
I have created a graphic in Photoshop that I placed in Illustrator to combine with my type for the logo. I used spot channels to create the 3 color graphic in Photoshop (2 spot colors and a black channel). I saved the file as a DCS 2.0 eps with Tiff 8 bits/pixel from the Preview pop-up menu, Multiple File Color Composite (72 pixels/inch) from the DCS pop-up menu, ASCII from the Encoding pop-up menu and deselected Include Halftone Screen and Include Transfer Function options. The color mode was CMYK. When I placed the eps in Illustrator and checked my separations I still had parts of the graphic on the CMYK plates. So, then I went back to Photoshop and changed the color mode to multi channel. Now when I place the eps in Illustrator I have three plates in the separations. But then I needed to make an eps from Illustrator that contained my Illustrator text and the Photoshop eps graphic and place this eps into Indesign to create my stationery. When I did this and checked my separations in Indesign I then had the CMYK plates back again!
What is the best way to create a graphic for a logo in Photoshop that will print in 3 color? I thought about putting the type into Photoshop and just doing the whole logo in Photoshop but then I ran into the problem that multi channel color mode doesn't seem to retain transparency. Please help!
Thanks,
