Hi everyone,
I used a gaussian blur to obtain a smooth gradian.
Well, I got this ugly stripe artefact:
Confused

(enhanced with a level effect)
Any clue ?
(it's not the first time i get that ...)
Thanks a lot for any help !

You might try using 16 bit mode.

Thanks Hawkeye,
That's it ! ...
It sounds obvious now (like many questions once you have the answer ...)
In fact I suppress the stripe effect only with 32bit ...
I guess with that leveling effect i used to enhance the striping, it may be possible to see artefact no matter how deep is the color definition. So there is no reason to worry about that I guess ...
When I go back to 8bit for saving, the striping are not coming back ... so I guess the good process is :
1) Go to 32 ...
2) Do what you have to do with the image
3) back to 8
4)save ...
Is that right ?
thanks again ...
