I was working on my backgrounds and text yesterday and saved everything, today I am trying to change the text and it is not allowing me to do it, is it because it is locked, I unlocked but it is not working, is there anything I can do to continue or do I need to start over. Sorry for asking stupid questions, but I am new to this. Thanks for any help I can get.

There is no reason why your text should not be editable in my view. Have you rasterized or flattened your type layer?

Ok, you need to do some reading about different file formats and what they do and some basic tutorials about layers and saving files. Do a google search, something along the lines of "photoshop for beginners" or such. To give you a quick run through, you can open a jpeg or png or bmp etc and then you can add text paste other images into it and so forth but if you want to edit your work you need to save it as a psd file. Except for paint everything will have it`s own layer that you can turn on or off make changes to whatever and it will only affect the selected layer. Once you save it as a jpg etc it will flatten all the content on to one layer that cant be changed,\.

Thanks I do appreciate the help, I have been doing tutorials, but I guess not the right ones. I do look everyday, but I still would like to know, because I haven't come across it yet, if I get a picture off the internet to use for a background, why I can't write on it. I can place pictures on it and objects but can't write on it. Thanks

I cant see any reason why you would not be able to add text to an image unless you are not selecting the text tool correctly.

OK I'm sorry, the text tool goes on the image but the writing is so tiny you can't read it and its only a few images I'm having trouble with, everything else it works great, and its the same type of image but different colors, they look like silk, I can't seem to write on them or I mean its so small you can't read it. So far its the only trouble I am having. Thanks
