I have Photoshop CS4 on Windows 7. When I hold down Alt and drag my mouse, the brush size changes and I have an outline preview (no color). When I hold Alt+Shift and drag the mouse, the hardness changes but there is no preview. When I check Edit>Preferences>Cursors, it says the brush preview color is red. Why isn't the color showing up?

Same happened to me some time ago with CS4 running under XP.

At first I saw the preview in red and then nothing. Alt (Shift) and dragging still allows me to adjust size and hardness ... only I don't see the red preview anymore.
Annoying 'cause I think it's one of the best shortcuts when you're masking.

Tried about everything except reistall: re-edited cursors, even deleted the preferences file and Alt-Ctrl-Shift at startup ... nothing changed.
Did a search on the adobe site but found nothing on this bug.

I had a good trawl and see that you have too daufoi, other than the OpenGL advice you already received I can't think of anything, sorry. Obviously I will keep looking though.
