|
|
I'm still getting used to Photoshop compared to the program I've used for over a decade.
My old program would show in a status bar the width, height, upper right, and bottom left positions of any box I was working with. A selection rectangle, when transforming anything, and when cropping.
I really would like to know that information when doing these kinds of operations. Does Photoshop have a similar feature? I know it has rulers, but those don't help because they're in inches for one and they don't tell you what the size of what you're working on, you have to visually check it and hope for the best. |

You can alter the dimension scale of the ruler. Ctrl+r to bring up the rule and then double click on the rule to change the scale.
As for your other gripe I am not sure it is as comprehensive as you would wish within Photoshop. You can change the fixed ratio or the fixed size from the status bar. The only other thing I can think of is the Info Palette that shows more information relative to X,Y and the size of selection/current tool.
Hope that helps _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

That does help, thanks. I guess it's not really that surprising that PS doesn't do EVERYTHING perfectly. |

You can, in photoshop go to the menu bar on top called "window/info" or press F8 on your keyboard and information box will appear on the right hand corner which will give you all the info you need...
