i want to create this kind of effect on a steel toaster where i choose a picture of a face i want it to reflect..
how would i do this? |

I can't see exactly what you are after, but this comes pretty close and incorporates the techniques that you will need to use:

thanks this is close,
but as I dont want the graphic to be part of the toaster but rather something that the toaster is reflecting then it will be a little different as there would be some reflective distortion at play. |

Try using either distort-spherize or transform-warp to give it the look you're after. |
