Hey there guys :) New around these parts, but been working in photoshop for about 9 years now, and I've come across something that has me stumped. I'm doing photo edits for another photographer right now, and her client has made this request:

This first link is the original

The second link is the background that the client wants, but she wants the texture to be a bit velvetty.

Ok sooo. this is what I came up with.

Any ideas on how to make the model look less "floaty"? i tried to add a "stage" under her but that didn't work, it all looks far too flat Frown

Just mimic the shadowing in the original photo?

Give it false perspective, a horizon line and shadowing would place her in the scene.

Well... I already added an exact drop shadow on her as was in the original photo. didn't help. (you can see it in the photo I linked)

hmm. I will try to add a line and shadowing .. not too sure im good at that lol
