my thoughts:
-good color scheme
-top font doesnt match, bottom font does
-font too simple, try fooling around with blending options such as drop shadow
-add a border... or something to make the image complete
-maybe make flowers a bit darker... but it looks fine

The bottom font was a brush that was part of a texty brush set I got a while back. It seemed to fit. However at the time I had no downloaded fonts (this banner is months old) so I just used monotype corsiva.

its not just hte font, you cna alwyas spice em up with a filter or blending option... but i think its ok, i like banners to have more contrast than just red on black and more red.... maybe red to black more extreme(contrast) or maybe another color to make everything come out more

i like the bootom font very much, but i would suggest going bold and possibly adding a white element to your picture, this way you could make certain things stand out more, or even accent them with white |
