I am trying digital scrap book, but still new to digital. Have paper scrapped for years.
1st question is how do I round the corners on a layer ( for example a paper piece)
Also I'm using some templates from Gottapixel, how can I make my paper stick to the black templates., I have a page layout, other then copying it from scratch, is there a way I can use some of the page shapes, but with my papers on them, esp the rounded paper ones, also to get my paper sizes the same.
Last question is how can I resize my papers with out lossing the patterns on them? as you do if just use resize tool ?? Thanks again _________________ Wen
Can I ask you which version of Photoshop you are using? Only to make it easier to answer your questions, as there are tools that are not available in every version.
Rounding the corners of an image can be done several ways. One of the easier ways is to make a rectangular selection around the portion of the image you want and use the Select/Modify/Smooth option and choose a pixel range of whatever you like, say ten pixels. You'll be able to see the corners of your rectangular selection round off. Since our selection is around the part of the image we want to keep, simply choose Selection/Invert, then hit the delete key. This will remove the unwanted material around the edge and leave the corners rounded.
There are also other things to consider when doing this...when you open an image in photoshop you will need to unlock it before you delete part of it, otherwise Photoshop will ask you how you intend to fill the removed background space. Just double click on your image in the layers palette on the right and it will ask you for a name for your layer. Call it anything you want or leave it blank. Now your layer is workable.
As far as how to use your template, I've not used a scrap booking template before so its difficult for me to answer that question. I don't know if your papers are just patterns or what, but some templates ask you to select the area you want to place your paper, then use the "Fill" command and choose a pattern, or texture, instead of color. Then you can choose the paper pattern you want and "paint" it right where you want it.
Hopefully I've steered you in a direction where you can move forward. Don't be afraid to let us know how your doing and ask any questions. _________________ http://www.jmerrittphotorestoration.com/
