i am using photoshop cs 5 extended and every time i try to use the elliptical marquee tool it says less than 50% is selected or else it shrinks the marquee and creates a fuzzy outer glow to it. can anyone help me? has anyone had this problem before? any help is appreciated.

Hi deedsr, it's the age old, 'you have less than 50%' it is referring to the amount of opacity in relation to the pixels. if you have less than 50% opacity it generates a warning, it does not mean that it does not keep a record of that pixel data though, it still records the info that you can use as a selection. It just won't produce the 'marching ants'.
