Hey a good way of doing it is to use a nice font.
http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=603 (Handwriting)
http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=601 (Calligraphy)
And then write what you want on a separate layer. This can be in any colour as it will not matter.
Then add layer FX, check 'bevel and emboss' as well as 'drop shadow'.
After this reduce the layer fill to 0. This will remove the colour of the original text.

create a new layer ontop of your photo.
type your words (watermark) onto this new layer.
lower the opacity of this layer.
flatten image.
done.

Hi guys, I'm new on this forum although I've had a copy of Photoshop CS3 for a couple of years now but I've never really used it for anything other than photo editing and text creation.
I came across this forum by chance and was in the process of trying to figure out the best way to add watermarks to some work I'm doing.
Like most problems I've encountered with PS, the solution, as highlighted above, is painfully obvious! I can't believe it...hours of tinkering and a five minute search and I find the solution.
Great stuff guys...I think I'll be an avid visitor from now on, although I will be mostly taking rather than giving for the best part initially!!!

Hey dude, it's easy to make watermark in photoshop
As said from other member above, you can make new layer, add some text, and lower the opacities..
