Here's a photo that I'm restoring. I haven't been able to get the skin color right, but I'm still working on it. The scan is ~3000 x ~4000 pixels, and I'm at the point where I'm going almost pixel by pixel, correcting the smallest flaws.

Hi ScubaDude, welcome to the forum.

I would suggest reading up on gradient masks, here's a link for your perusal Colouring with a Gradient Map

You have done a nice job so far, keep it up and the results will be amazing.

wow that looks great, may i ask what main tools/ filters you used to get rid of the crumpling on the image??

Rachel Hobbs: The damage was corrected with the clone and healing tools. The colorization was done using this tutorial, but, as I said, I'm not too happy with the results.[/url]
