|
|
I am having problems using the SELECTION tools. There is too much bleed off, can anyone give me a clue as to how to solve this problem ?
Using the Magic Wand and the Quick Selection tool and the Color Range selections are driving me mad (and angry). I'm having more problmes in CS5.1 than I did in Elements 9.
Thanks in advance ! |

I had the same problem. It really depends on how much background noise there is in the photo. The best way I make selections is using the direct selection tool and adjusting the brush size. You can also subtract and add selections to make it smoother. After you make the selection use the refine mask tool or refine edges. This will allow you to clean up the selection you have made. There are plenty of tutorials to help you. Do a basic search of making selections in photoshop cs5. I hope this helps. |

Thanks, I have done all that, and the "selection" tool is not sensitive enough. I thought there might be some setting that I could use.
thanks |

after selecting, press the button on the top toolbar called "refine edge" and play about with the settings. |

If you use the Magic Wand tool, change the tolerance in the top bar to make it more or less sensative. |

Why don't you attach the image you are having these problems with and tell us what area / color is bothering you. |
