				Hi There Everybody-

I am having a brain cramp and I can't remember a simple process and need some guidance. I'm making a frame and the first step is to create the frame is to use the elliptical tool and make a rectangle and fill it in with black. Then you use the tool again and make a smaller rectangle inside of the first one and delete the center so you are left with the black frame. But what I can't remember is

1). when I make the first rectangle,,how do I fill it with black, and then make the dots around the box go away??

2) When I make the second one, how do i delete the inside and make the inside white (note that I can not paint the inside, I must delete it).

Please let me know if you have any question's to help with providing the information.

I'm using Photoshop CS.

Thank you in advance for your time!!

Sincerely- Douglas |

Q: "when I make the first rectangle,,how do I fill it with black, and then make the dots around the box go away??"

A: Justy pour into the selection with the paint bucket

OR

alt-backspace/alt-delete to fill with foreground color

OR

shift-delete to fill with background color

OR

shift-backspace to get a menu to help you fill

OR

edit>fill...

Q: how do i delete the inside

With marquee still selected, note that there's a set of options with icons top left hand side - choose "subtract from selection". Then make the second (inside) selection. The selection will automatically be deleted from initial selection.

Q: how do i ... make the inside white

A: If you've deleted it, you'll have to put the white on a layer beneath.

Hope that helps.
